Okay, so I'm moving over to Dreamwidth to an extent. Mostly I need to know if you're on Dreamwidth so I can actually follow you folks. My livejournal friends page has been dead for the most part so I'm kind of making a general assumption that a lot of you are over here and not cross-posting or you just don't feel like posting. Like me!

So hopefully this will cross-post and I'll get used to using another journal. Now to find my communities or like communities.

Kitty update!

Update on the kitties I posted about the other day.

Izzy is actually a boy named Floyd. He lives at a house down the street and the same woman took in the cat we've been calling Snowy and has all 5 of her kittens. So both are taken care of and have a home! Though if anyone wants kittens, she's got five of them. *g* Thanks to everyone who posted about them and shared the post.

URGENT: CATS NEED A HOME

These are our two stray cats. We have been taking care of them for months now, but they cannot come inside because Bella hates other cats. We've been hoping that she would come around, but so far no luck.

So now this is urgent. We can no longer feed them because a raccoon is terrorizing the neighborhood and the visit from the police last night made it very clear that we couldn't leave food out for them anymore.

The big grey cat on the left is Izzy. She is of an unknown age, extremely friendly and cuddly, has her claws, and was probably a house cat at one point. She has way too many house cat tendencies to be a life-long stray. I would also bet that she's been spayed too. She is good with kids, dogs, and cats. She wants very much to come inside.

The little kitten on the right is Snowy. She is also of an unknown age, but she still looks like a kitten so I would put her under the age of 1. She has probably never been a house cat. She has shown no interest in coming inside, but she would probably be fine with it given the option. She has had a litter of kittens recently so I know she is not spayed. She is not automatically friendly like Izzy, but she warms up to you. She lets me pick her up, cuddle her, pet her, and she even asks for it now. She is tolerant of Milo, doesn't go near Jackson, and adores Izzy.

So please, if you or someone you know is interested in either of these cats (or both!) please let me know. I'll probably have to take them to a shelter on Tuesday since I can't supervise their feedings after that.

This is a public post so please share. I would love them to have homes without having to go to a shelter first! We are in located South Jersey near Philadelphia but I'm willing to drive a bit to get them to a home.

Gift for evil_knitter

Title: Heartlines
Author: [livejournal.com profile] visionshadows
Pairing: Dean/Castiel, Dean/Victor Henriksen (past)
Rating: PG-13 for language
Length: 12,985
Summary: “Dean Winchester,” the judge said and Dean looked back at him, standing up. “You are Sam’s legal guardian now. It falls on you to make sure he is safe. I don’t want to see either of you back in my courtroom until it is time to dissolve the guardianship when Sam turns eighteen.”

Authors Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] evil_knitter for the 2011 [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_xmas exchange. Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] fayemeadows, [livejournal.com profile] walkawayslowly, and [livejournal.com profile] libitina for last minute beta work.

I'm sorry this ended up being done at the last minute. I have a tendency to write slow and take on a lot in a short amount of time. I sort of took your high school AU request and merged it with matchmaker Sam, some mild angst, and ended up with a fic about Dean and Castiel that is all from Sam's POV.

Title comes from Florence and the Machines song by the same name.

SIGNAL BOOST RE: [livejournal.com profile] moony

Okay, seriously. I hate to have to dredge all this shit up again since it's been left behind for YEARS at this point, but it has to be done.

Anna/[livejournal.com profile] loislane1182/[livejournal.com profile] barbarylane/[livejournal.com profile] maybethemoon/[livejournal.com profile] moony is back in action. She's in the Sherlock fandom and has a friend who, like so many others, sees her as a person in need and has reached out to fandom to ask for money to send to her.

Please go to [livejournal.com profile] fayemeadows journal to read all of the specifics about what happened when she took Faye and her mom for a ton of money as well as the fandom_wank entry on journalfen regarding her. Faye was not the first person and she was not the last that this happened to. She did not take me personally for much money - though I did pay for a lot of food, drinks, gas, clothes, etc for her while I was unemployed - but she has taken multiple people for thousands of dollars, including people prior to her entering fandom.

We're not dredging up the past to be mean. We're doing it so people don't get fleeced again by her. There are people who legit need help and I am all for helping those people. I have sent money myself for a number of people that I personally know to be trustworthy and in legit need. Anna might actually need real help this time, but she's cried wolf too many times to be trusted.

Please signal boost to either this post or Faye's. They both will be unlocked.

PLEASE READ A VERY DETAILED ACCOUNT OF ANNA'S PAST HERE

I have no Eleven icons!

Snagged this from the husband who snagged this from the Thinkgeek twitter feed. Matt Smith and Orbital at Glastonbury during Orbital's Dr. Who theme. Very cool! And geeky! And full of strobe lights! (you have been warned)

ETA AGAIN: I am offering soup/stew/chili over here. This is a US only offering.

Please take a look through the various offering threads if you aren't interested in what I'm offering. There are three separate fic threads, an icons, graphics, etc thread, a fanart thread, and a thread for misc. items.

Rec: We Held Gold Dust In Our Hands

Read this. Just go. Now.

Well, okay maybe not now unless you really have a ton of free time and feel the need to just wallow in a gorgeous 60000+ plus Jack/Ianto/Lisa with a side of Jack/Ianto/Lisa/Gwen/Rhys that is quite possibly the best thing I've read in ages.

I am so in love with this story. I want to draw hearts around it and clutch it to my chest and all kinds of other smooshy, girly things. It's not sad, it's not heart-breaking. Everyone lives, everyone is happy. I'm not saying it won't make you cry because hell, I'm still welling up a little over here. But crying can be good, y'know?

I want to write!

I'm really kind of tired and my face hurts. I don't want to write my paper for this week. I'm feeling vaguely burnt out from school and the absolutely horrible week at work I just had. Instead I want to watch football, drink wine, and write ficlets.

That's where my friendslist comes in. Please, please just drop me a line, a picture, an idea, anything. I'll write something short, maybe just a paragraph or two in Torchwood, Torchwood RPS (incl. John/Scott), Doctor Who, J2, Fringe, Venture Brothers, or Futurama.

Please? I really want to write something to get going so I can actually work on the J2 fic I promised Chrissy.

ETA: Stuff in comments! 3 so far. Keep 'em coming!

Halp!

I'm in need of images of Ray Kowalski's apartment! I know they're out there but I'm hoping someone has them handy. I'm at work so I can't go searching for them.

Muskrat Jamboree!

MJ Roundup!

We ([livejournal.com profile] dayse, [livejournal.com profile] fayemeadows, and [livejournal.com profile] libitina) headed out Thursday morning after a full breakfast of eggs, bacon, fruit, bagels, lox, coffee, and tea. Nice way to head out for a long drive actually. We took that example and used it on Sunday too. The drive went very quick which was surprising. There was the Coffee Incident where I spilled an extra large Tim Hortons (Timmmmmmmies!) in the backseat as soon as we left the parking lot. Chrissy took us back through the drive thru where the guy was nice enough to give me a free one even as he blatantly made fun of me. Which I'm cool with because hey, new coffee (which incidentally [livejournal.com profile] libitina wouldn't let me hold until we were back on the highway) plus my car smells like coffee! But I digress. Quick drive where we made Chrissy listen to Voodoo. I cracked Libitina up with that because hey, you gotta emote when singing Voodoo!

Checked in quickly and cheered at our free fridge! Thank you medication. Beer is medication, right? We loaded up the food in the fridge, unpacked, laid about for a bit, and then headed down to the Theater Cafe to register. There was much hugging of the Giddy as well as others. I spent $9 on a Bookers on the rocks from the frazzled bartender who settled down later in the evening. Then after eating, I spent the evening talking to [livejournal.com profile] abelladonna, [livejournal.com profile] kimberlyfdr, [livejournal.com profile] j_s_calavante, and [livejournal.com profile] mickeymvt among others. Headed into bed very late at night but luckily everyone was still awake as we played with the sleep number beds. And then sleep.

The day started with Doctor Who and lots of coffee. I wanted to go to the McShep panel because they will always be in my heart but the Doctor Who panel was the only one that [livejournal.com profile] bethbethbeth was running and after her HP panel at the last MJ, I knew I wanted to go to that one. Also we got to discuss Doctor Who and it was smart and fun and people other than me love Seven! Then it was a break where [livejournal.com profile] dayse and I went to forage for food before the RPF panel. We did the same after that too before the genderfuck panel. During the language of fandom panel I started to get hugely nervous because the Jack/Ianto panel I was running with [livejournal.com profile] libitina was next. That went really well in my opinion. People seemed to enjoy it, there was conversation about how it is doomed, but we really wish them well. Plus there was a vid break for 'Papa Don't Preach' by [livejournal.com profile] fan_eunice which is hilarious MPREG where Jack is havin' his baby. *g*

Saturday's panels were afternoon only because of Friday night (which I will go back to) - the AU panel because HELLO my favourite thing ever! Then a break where I checked on [livejournal.com profile] dayse and got her out of the room long enough for the maid to clean. We watched the raffle which was fun before she went back to the room and I went to the Psych panel where I was co-modding with [livejournal.com profile] giddygeek. Again I think it went really well where people were enthused about the show and we discussed why people aren't as fannish about it as other shows when it has an easy slash setup (Gus' fear of naked men aside) and fun banter. Good stuff.

Honestly I don't remember much about the panels except almost all meta panels ended up about bandom. Which is fine because there was a ton of bandom people, but I have to admit there were moments where I felt media fandom wasn't getting as represented. This is my own opinion and I'm not bashing anyone's fandom here at all. It was just a little sad that everything meta dissolved into bandom. :/

But lets go back to Friday night.

Dinner at the lovely little Indian place where I had delish mater paneer. And then we started drinking while we got ready for the vid show and dance party. Buttershots are excellent. And even more excellent with Jameson as [livejournal.com profile] libitina discovered when we were pre-dinner drinking in [livejournal.com profile] treewishes room. [livejournal.com profile] cmshaw and [livejournal.com profile] lightgetsin joined the room and [livejournal.com profile] dayse forced buttershots on them as well. She was all for the buttershots.

But they can turn on you. Keep that in mind for later.

So we drank about half the bottle before we realized it was dinnertime. Headed to the Indian place, had dinner, came back and drank a little more before we got ready for the party. The table I was at for the vid show had lots of lovely bandom girls including [livejournal.com profile] katrin, [livejournal.com profile] shihadchik, [livejournal.com profile] fayemeadows and others. Kat had started drinking early like [livejournal.com profile] dayse and I had so we were the drunk goobers at the table.

Vid show was FANTASTIC. I loved all the vids even for fandoms I wasn't a part of or knew nothing about. Skullcrusher Island was so fun and I've never watched Lost. But dude, No Handlebars for Ten? PERFECT pairing. You must watch! And the inclusion of Care Bears in the Yuletide panel was full of laughing for [livejournal.com profile] dayse, [livejournal.com profile] fayemeadows, and myself (aside [livejournal.com profile] earthdotprime read the Care Bear fic outloud at my bachelorette party).

There was some drinking in the room with [livejournal.com profile] mickeymvt between vid show and dance party. Yay vodka, beer, and buttershots? Honestly this is when I start losing my memory of the evening. I know there was dancing, huuuuge vodka and cranberry drinks, chatting with [livejournal.com profile] misspamela, and um, stuff. I don't really remember getting back to the room but apparently we ended up having enough people there because someone (*cough*Dayse*cough*) invited people back in drunken happiness. During the room party, I remember people kissing and then spending a lot of time in the bathroom with [livejournal.com profile] c_regalis and [livejournal.com profile] mickeymvt while I threw up. It was kind of a blur after that, but apparently there was sexing on our floor and then someone threw up and then I was in bed in my pjs as was [livejournal.com profile] dayse (thank you, C and Mickey!) who passed out. I ended up in the little alcove by the ice machine and drunk dialing my mother who thankfully was awake. Um, like an hour later I got to sleep.

Somewhere in there I think I lost my nose ring down the toilet. Woe.

There was no drinking for me on Saturday when we went to Jacques. But it wasn't necessary. Others have gone into great detail about Jacques and how fantastic it was to be in that room with all these fangirls and drag queens. Destiny played with my boobs and stuck her hand into the deep vee of the top while I stuck money in her bottoms. How could you not love that? Plus I got to laugh and lean up against [livejournal.com profile] abelladonna all night. She got a lot of drag queen attention as did many others in our crowd. Plus the drag queens were very, very well compensated by our crowd. Then [livejournal.com profile] mickeymvt and I went back to our room where she drank while [livejournal.com profile] dayse, her, and I watched a lot of Food Network Challenge. We know how to party it up on Saturday night!

Sunday was breakfast at the Theater Cafe and saying goodbye to fangirls. I'm always sad when I say goodbye, but really, I know I'll see so many of them in 2011. MJ is just so much fun. It's really just a happy weekend where yes, you can get thinky, but mostly you get to hang around with so many people like you who will squee and hug and *get* you. It's just wonderful.

When I went in 2007 I didn't know anyone except [livejournal.com profile] raveninthewind (who I missed a lot btw) and [livejournal.com profile] libitina. I walked away from that con with new friends and a lot of silly hope for the next one. Which lived up and then some.

And in conclusion,

I want to MARRY the shower and soaking tubs at the Radisson!

Oh, and Jack and Ianto are in love!
