stuff what i gots

So last week I ended up doing a whole bunch of online shopping while mourning. I've gotten the Villainess order so far, gotten the CnS for my TAL order, and gotten up the courage to look at what I got from the main Lab. Seriously. I need to be kept away from my credit cards while mourning. Also, it's best not to add up how much money I spent. I'm trying not to.

Soap list )

TAL order )

BPAL Order )

In other news ... still nothing on the [livejournal.com profile] greatestfits story, but I had weird dreams about writing stories that were very, very insane. About as insane as my Misery SGA RPS idea that I told [livejournal.com profile] dayse last night. And I've been watching bits of movies all last night and today. I've seen most of Empire Records, the end of Batman Begins, some of Armaggedon, and now PCU. Mostly I just want someone to point me to the Joe/Lucas Empire Records fic. Where is it? I know it has to exist. Fandom was created to take care of my needs!

I need more crack pizza. Like now.

influential albums from 2000 on...

So Chris and I went to Tower Records today after going to Mom's, meeting up with Kevin on the streets of Collingswood, picking up my medication, and going to the liquor store. One of my purchases was a best of for Guns 'n Roses which got us started on influential albums because really, 'Appetite for Destruction' is fantastic. And I said, thinking out loud, that I can't really think of a lot of albums from the past few years that could really be considered influential. Which of course brings up the fact that it's not easy to pick what might be influential in the future. So we put a limit on the past few years and made it from 2000 on. It's very easy to pick albums from prior to 2000, but not so much from after. And I want to preface this by saying there are things on the list that are influential in their genre and for no other reason then that.*

What we came up with so far in no particular order...

Eminem 'The Marshall Mathers LP'
Coldplay 'Rush of Blood to the Head'*
Radiohead 'Kid A'/'Amnesiac', 'Hail to the Thief'
Flaming Lips 'Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots'
Nsync 'No Strings Attached'*
Tool 'Lateralus'
Keith Fulteron Whitman 'Playthroughs'
Sigur Ros 'Agaetis Byrjun'
White Stripes 'White Blood Cells', 'Elephant'

Now, there are a ton of albums that have come out in the past 6 years that have been absolutely fantastic like all the System of a Down albums, Beck's 'Sea Changes', Rob Zombie's stuff, Outkast, Korn, N.E.R.D/The Neptunes etc, etc. but we managed to argue them out of the influential list because they're not necessarily influential to us or their most influential album was from before 2000. And yes, this whole idea is very subjective unless you live with a music freak who can automatically start listing people who have been influenced by such and such album.

Please, add albums you think are influential from the year 2000 on. I'm very curious to see what other people consider to be influential albums. And yeah, go ahead and try and argue me out of Coldplay and Nsync. Even Chris isn't arguing with Nsync's influential status for that particular album.
