and the rain rain rain came down down down...

uh. yeah. that's been stuck in my head for some reason.

went out with karen and tami and had a great time. it was so nice to go out and just relax and have a couple of drinks and talk about stuff. i missed karen so much and i'm so glad i got to see her. i need karen time. then we headed back to her house after dropping tami off (who lives so close now. yay!) and hung out with her mom. i love karen's mom. :)

i'm happy. sleepy but happy.

Went to the doctor. Whee with the fun. I had to get bloodwork done and as I was calmly getting my blood drawn and chatting with the phlebotomist, I kept wishing I could give some of my calm to Dacey the next time she needs one. They don't faze me at all. Guess that's what happens when your mother practices on you when she's learning.

I didn't get done in time to take Karen to work. Feel guilty. Don't feel like going to Drexel. Will finish my SS today. Need to go to work to pick up Leah's check and take Iya for a visit. Apparently mom wants me to clean my room. Um. Ick. No. Not in the mooood.

Got to actually listen to my copy of Ben Folds' Rockin the Suburbs. Mom's had it since I bought it BUT I stole her car this morning. Mwuhaha! I am so smart. I am so smart. S-M-R-T. I mean, S-M-A-R-T.

Each holiday season my grandfather sends us a check and we get to go out to dinner together as a family. Well that was tonight. We went out to the Italian Bistro which is high class for us. It was really, really, really nice. My mom and dad were totally surprised, thinking it was Olive Garden style food and then getting good food. It was a good night. We had fun and it was actually a nice evening together.

Wow with the weird. We don't get along. We stopped going on vacations together about 6 years ago just because we fight too damn much. We don't even try and go out to dinner more than once a year. And this is the first time in ages it's ended up nice. I could get used to my family being like this.



People are talking about going home for Christmas and all of that stuff. I read Ceili and Kyla's posts about going home for the holidays and I feel all warm and fuzzy and a little jealous. I've never really had that. Even when I dated people over the holiday it never was like that. I guess the closest I came to that was Joe's family. Everything was so perfect and family-oriented during the holidays. I try and spend time with Karen around the holidays because I like her family.

I guess...I guess I want Christmas without the Christ part of it. Sort of.
