visionshadows: (caught in a moment you can't get out of)
I hearby declare that [livejournal.com profile] dayse is not allowed to go to sleep before I do because I cannot be trusted to make good decisions on my own. I do things like sign up for challenges that will only cause me, her, and Chris great pain. Like tonight. She went to bed early because she has to go to school tomorrow and I was left alone and ended up signing up for [livejournal.com profile] fanfic100.

[runs in circles]

It gets better. I signed up for Wilby Wonderful. I don't think there were 10,000 words in the whole SCRIPT for that movie. [cries]

ALL HER FAULT.

Okay, so I didn't go searching for this. I want to say that right off the bat so certain people (John, I'm looking at you) don't think I did. But...

There's a Futurama FanFic Archive.

And it has ship fic. And crossovers. And ratings. And omg fic where Wayne Gretzky is in a flashing hockey stick and Avril was one the prime minister of Canada and Canada conquered all the Nordic countries of Earth before getting a whole planet called Caa-Naa-Daa.

Seriously. I had no idea this was out there. I thought us slashers had funny one-off little ha-ha moments where we all jokingly said oh Fry and Bender are good friends. And you know, I bet some people could really pull off Futurama fic (debchan and stubbleglitter that I know of at least) if they tried.

But people there are TONS of fics here!

It's another world.

Futurama Madhouse - Fan Fiction Section

I just. There are no words. I am frightened. And confused. I just wanted a picture of the Robot Devil for an icon!

There's a Band of Brothers crossover! How is that possible?

In the past week (or so), I have

1. Ridden a camel
2. Eaten a really, really good steak
3. Kicked a sushi resturant's ass with a little help from my friends
4. Ate a waffle ice cream sandwich at the CNE
5. Bought a shisha
6. Spent massive amounts of time with [livejournal.com profile] dayse
7. Hated on Toronto's airport muchly
8. Lied at customs in regards to food items (Coffee crisp? What coffee crisp?)
9. Broke in my new black flats
10. Bought a ton of bpal
11. Got a bpal shipment
12. Made a chicken
13. Worked
14. Posted a story that has gotten more comments than anything since Human Behavior
15. Missed [livejournal.com profile] dayse
16. Housesat for my parents
17. Went to the Hockey Hall of Fame
18. Started rewatching season 1 of Deadwood
19. Laughed at Milo and his greasy chicken face
20. Sacrificed a polar bear to Milo

I keep starting and stopping posts because of sheer laziness. I want to write, but meh. Lazy. I still have much love for Atlantis right now. Much annoyance at SG1. I'm writing stuff in dS and SGA. I'm spending entirely too much time in the bpal lj communties. I've bought waaaay too much bpal over the last three days. I'm going to have to start selling off some of my imps. I've got 41 right now and 7 5ml bottles with about 8 or 9 5 ml bottles on the way and another 8 imps. That's not counting the actual bpal order I placed earlier in the month. *groans* What I really want though is Miskatonic University. The scent of Irish coffee, dusty tomes and polished oakwood halls. How could I *not* want that? So far I've tried Snake Charmer which is lovely and pretty much Snake Oil light with more of a sharp, spicy undertone and Thalia which is just lovely. It's pear and peaches and all kinds of fruity, crisp flavours. This one is great. I'm glad I took the chance and bought a 5ml unsniffed.

So I'm a little behind on the whole [livejournal.com profile] thecuttingboard kerfluffle, but let me just say for the record that I love it when people take a closer look at my work. It's really interesting to me to see what works and what doesn't work for different people. The fic I just posted gave me a chance to reveal in discussion because some people were entirely satisfied with what was said in the story and others were more interested in the backstory that was hinted at then the story that was being told so it wasn't satisfying for them. [writhes] I love that. Seriously. It makes me very happy and I feel like I've accomplished something because of that. People were thinking about something I wrote and that's what matters to me. [happies]

Also, Slings and Arrows is really freakin' great. Paul Gross does crazy very, very well. Not that I think he's a bad actor or anything, but not a really complex one in the end. This is the first time I've really been overly impressed with his acting. He's allowed to chew up the scenery and he does it really well.

And now we work on dinner - tuna steaks with wasabi cream sauce, whole wheat pasta, salad, and apple pie with ice cream for dessert. I *love* food so very much. :)

So I know I'm late playing in the Yuletide party. So late in fact, the authors have been revealed and I can say with all happiness, my author kicks much, much butt. Her name is Therienne and in case anyone forgot, my most wonderful story is Pure Evil and it's The Real Ghostbusters (the cartoon) and it's Peter/Egon. I've never read anything by her before, but I'll have to keep an eye on her now. :)

Okay, so I wrote A World of Normal Girls which is Bend it Like Beckham fic. It's Jules/Jess and it's really just a twist on the movie. An AU, I suppose where Jess wants Jules, not Joe. Thanks go out to [livejournal.com profile] dayse as usual because she kept telling me that it didn't suck and then did a lovely beta on the final product. Also, I owe [livejournal.com profile] elke_tanzer a huge thanks as well for stepping in and getting this uploaded for me. :)

I also posted the first part of a story to [livejournal.com profile] pwf_love in honor of [livejournal.com profile] scribbulus_ink's birthday. It's called The House Where Nobody Lives and it's Snape/Lupin. It's not my normal thing, much more tongue in cheek and with a touch of humour. And it will be finished. I swear.

Okay, so Yuletide recs are behind the cut. No real descriptions because I'm lazy, but these are all wonderful and they make me smile. :)

recs ahoy! )
