visionshadows: (please don't believe in me)
I am seriously stressing about tomorrow. Like, I know that this isn't my last chance to get these credits looked at but I really want this to be taken care of. I need something to show my parents like this because it will make the blow of me dropping a class a little less. Because this will also lessen the amount of time I'll be at Rowan.

But ick. And I didn't finish my Modern Art reading. I don't think I'm that worried about that. Burt can wait until I'm damned well ready. I got him an article on modern art. That's what matters.

Aside: Dayse has beaten me multiple times at the Super Gem Challenge but alas we can't play any longer because we seem to be frozen out. We shall try minigolf.

Also...me and Dayse are so mean...

I've finally gotten a chance to listen to the new live NIN CD And All That Could Have Been all the way through the right and proper way aka with headphones so I can catch all the nuances and beauty of the songs. This entire thing is just sending me back to the Fragility tour and the one concert I managed to see off that tour. It was seriously one of the best nights of my life and as I go down each song on the CD I remember more and more of the night.

We had amazing tickets because Kate being the goddess she is waited at the box office for tickets and in the lottery got number 1. And they started at 1 for once. So she got us the GA Pit tickets for the show. I'm talking fucking amazing tickets. I don't think I've had better tickets and that includes Nsync in Tampa. It was Kate, PJ, Tami, Joe, someone who's name I can't remember and I feel horrible about because she was cool, and myself. We met at the apartment and watched NIN videos for a while before leaving. We got there at like 5 for the doors to open at 7 I think. We waited in line and baked in our black clothes and makeup and asskicking boots and short skirts. But when we got in...we were maybe 10 feet from the stage when A Perfect Circle came on. I don't remember much about them except thinking that Manyard was a freak. I still hold that opinion of him but he's also an amazing musician.

I have never been to such a cool show and I think I can say that easily. Bowie was just beyond words. Nsync was just lots of fun and dancing boys. U2 and REM were amazing experiences. But Nine Inch Nails is easily the coolest show I've been to. Everything that happened that day and night was just beyond cool.

They came out swinging with Terrible Lie which is far and away one of my favourite songs. Then it was followed up by Sin which is number 2 on my list. At this point, I had lost everyone except Joe because he was scared to death and had never been in a pit before and didn't know what to do so he was clinging to my waist in mortal fear. But seriously, amazing pit hospitality at this show. There was this big guy, I'd say about 6"5' and 300+ lbs who was making sure none of the girls got hurt and was basically protecting everyone in the pit even as he was rocking out. I told Joe to go hide behind him. He pouted and continued to cling to my waist. March of the Pigs and Piggy were amazing and I just was going nuts at this point, slightly happy I had Joe there when I almost went down and he hauled me back up. He was more familiar with The Fragile and not the earlier stuff besides Broken. Everyone should own a copy of Broken. So they go into The Frail and The Wretched and the crowd is just going nuts and singing along and Trent is angry and hurling insults at the crowd and it's great. Gave Up was what did me in. I was going so hard, so fast at that point I had to leave the pit to go get water.

And then they played The Great Below.

The Great Below is far and away my favourite NIN song EVER. I even have it down to a time that's the favourite bit (2:23) because of the way his voice cracks as he sings 'the great below' and just the sheer emotion of it. Joe and I were at the edge of the pit and this is the one and only time I've ever cried at a concert and that's counting hearing Bowie sing Ziggy live.

We made it back to the pit for The Mark Has Been Made and we were firmly enconsed in the pit again, but not as close, when they played Wish. I will always and forever think of Joe Fortunato lipsynching to this song and dancing to it while drunk. And it was just amazing live.

Honestly...a lot of the concert becomes a blur after that because of heat exhaustion and so forth.

But...during Starfuckers Inc, when the crowd is chanting along 'Don't you...' and so forth (it happens on the CD too) Trent starts laughing and saying fuck you to the crowd instead. Which got them going even more.

And then...they ended it with Hurt.

Kill me now.

So good.

Then we managed to find everyone and Kate is crying and clutching at a water bottle. We found out that she spent the whole time pressed up against the railing and a) got Robin's water bottle, and b) ended up keeping Trent from falling over the railing at one point for pretty much all of Piggy. He had climbed off the stage and was standing on one of those box things and was right in front of her. He started tipping over and she grabbed his arm to hold him up and he grabbed back and just stayed there. She was still crying from that.

We got everyone back to my house and PJ and I were lying on our backs in the grass staring up at the stars and trying to figure out if anything had ever been so cool. We decided no. The others joined us and we eventually headed back to Glassboro after peeing and drinking and having ice cream. Tami met my dog and my dog adored her.

Oh, and the night ended with fucking amazing sex because both Joe and I were just all crazy wired from the show.

That was a good night. And this CD is just bringing all of that back.

Thank you for releasing this, Trent et al!

and I am going to hell for the Nsync lyrics on a Trent icon, thankyouverymuch!

visionshadows: (domestic gods)
I wrote out about four pages of Seven in modern art. I've learned that Wasserman is the perfect annoyance that leads to creativity. But now I don't feel like typing it out. Eh. It's on the list. For February.

I'm bored.

And Karen and I are going out.

Whee!
