I'm really, really trying to break my self-imposed exile. I'm trying to make plans to go out on Saturday night with my friends. I will let Waryne drag me out of the house if necessary. I know he'll do it.

I talked to Brielle on the phone for almost an hour last night and it made me feel so much better because Brielle is just a fantastic listener and she knows the in's and out's of what's bothering me so much these days. She's the only person I've seen on a regular basis besides work folks in ages. Thank God I have a class with her.

I'm currently talking to Karen on IM for the first time in forever. She's going to take me to a really cool art exhibition with her and to the VIP reception! Woo! It's fun knowing someone in the newspaper business. :) Plus, she loves me. Yep. Don't believe her when she says she doesn't. She really does.

I'm waiting for 12 to roll around because today is the Women's History Month Luncheon and Brielle and I are going with Professor Libro. So consequently, I'm dressed nice which is going to suck when I run my ass to work afterwards. I'm not going to have a chance to go home first to change. Yay! for wearing black dress pants, nice boots, and a nice sweater to a dirty hardware store. I didn't really like these clothes anyway. Bah.

I have the laptop so I could feasibly sign off this computer and go have fun with that in the library or the Student Center to pass time. I could go write sex! But...then I wouldn't have the internet. And I feel the need to re-read Kitty's Blue Dress for some reason. So. I think I shall go do that instead.

I'm starting to think I need to broaden my writing horizons again. I might possibly have to put aside some of the fanfic for a bit and go back to writing original fic. Of course, each time I try that I get frustrated and go write something that makes me happy instead.

Hmm...I have to pee. And I want more coffee.

Look over there! It's a green squirrel!

::runs away while folks are distracted by the green squirrel::

::darts back::

According to the Secret Diary of Paul Hewson, he's still not God. Teehee.

The Women's History Luncheon turned out to be really interesting and enlightening. Our speaker was Bapsi Sidwha who's an author from the Punjab region of Pakistan. Her topic was Southeast Asian Women's Voices. It was really, really hard to listen to a lot of what she had to say about the separation of India and Pakistan. It was a brutal slaughter of Muslim men and women as well as Hindu and Sikh. As well as that, she explained a lot about Afghanistan and Muslim customs and the Taliban and what's going on in that part of the world right now, including the massacres of Muslims in Bombay by Hindus. It was just really, really interesting to hear about it and see how women especially are treated in these situations. One of the things that stuck with me the most of what she said was "Victory is celebrated on women's bodies" referring to how rape and kidnapping is not only used as a weapon but also as a celebration, which is just horrible to think about.

I'm really glad I went. I also got to spend the time with Brielle, Meghan, and Meghan's mother. I haven't seen Meghan in forever. She rocks.

I'm in a good mood even though it's been a really long day. I don't know, it just was a very nice day. I'm glad that I went because I think it really helped me out. Plus, I sat outside in the sunshine for a good half hour waiting for Brielle and it was so nice.

I feel good.

I like this.

Anna!

I think you left something besides the curling iron.

Damn, that was a good birthday.

Oh, and if I could get my bra back one of these days...
