of holidays and brisket

We are smack dab in the middle of the Passover preparations. There's a reason we don't try and do this ourselves each year. Mom and I suck at getting things ready. She's already changed the menu once and I suspect she'll change it again. We've gone from having chicken soup with matzoh balls and spinach casserole to having brisket and spinach casserole. Mom's never cooked brisket before but at 11:42 this morning it seemed like a great idea. So now she's off shopping and I'm left here with cleaning to do. I eventually need to shower because I have to put up the dishwasher soon but I think I'm going to hold off until the spinach casserole is done at 1.

We usually go to my aunt's house but this year my parents decided that they didn't want to go. I'm the only one who wanted to go at all actually. I love Passover at my aunt's house because there's always so many people and I get to see my cousins and I just love getting drunk with Jeremy. He's so fun because neither of us can really hold our wine very well and by the third cup during the ceremony (really about the 6th or 7th cup because we always drink all day long) everything seems funny especially my Uncle Sean singing Let My People Go in the blues style he picked up years ago for the song. I'm really going to miss it this year.

Dayse sent me a bunch of clips last night including 'Got No Shame' and the pups playing basketball ("Can I play?"). She's now my secondary hero with Dacey as my primary hero because they're all Puppy Shelter clips.
