OK.

So it's been a looooong 24 or so hours. I had a plan yesterday, and that plan was very simple. Mom and I were going to go to New York and pick up the tickets for What's Next on Tuesday. That part of the plan was accomplished without too much fuss. There was an unhappy printer incident and the train of unbearable slowness to hamper that accomplishment, but I prevailed.

We're wandering New York. And it's cold. And Mom's little. So we head to Times Square after getting the tickets. We turn down a street and lo and behold, it's the Nederlander and the big RENT sign is out front. I turn to Mom and jokingly ask what time it is. It's 4:45 and I hum, drag her over to the marquee and have her read the lottery info. Mom looks at her watch again, pulls out the train schedule and proceeds to decide that we must attempt the lottery. So we're first in line for putting our names in, then Mom gets called 4th! We won the lottery and ended up dead smack in the center of the first row. Joey dropped the keys at my feet, to give you an idea of exactly where we were. It was absolutely fantastic and I am so glad that we did that. Mom adored it and I just heard her downstairs saying to Dad about how Joey was "Right. There!" Hehe. She's so cute.

Also, they had an auction last night for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS for Joey's handkerchief and a chance to spend time with Joey backstage. The actual auction was hilarious because Joey's right in front of me and hamming it up and striking poses and laughing as people shout at him. He did a little hammy dance and was just so Joey right then. It was great. Eventually, they ended up taking 2 people who were going back and forth. $375 and $376 for time spent with Joey. We're walking out and Mom turns to me and says "I should have bid $380." To which I commented that I would have been really "fucking embarrassed because we don't even have a camera."

Then came the train of unbearable slowness yet again. No more taking the train to NY. I'll kill myself if I have to do it again. I'm fine with driving.

Also, had the GRE this morning, which due to the late hour getting home, I slept through. Woo! Go me! Luckily this wasn't the real thing and it was only a practice exam.

But that's okay. Yesterday was totally worth it and I couldn't care less about taking the GRE right now. RENT! I got to see RENT! For $20! Woo!

Edit: Have also now seen the Justin on Leno thanks to Nia. Eee! That was adorable! Seriously. His little shoelace!
