Okay, so I managed to catch up on the poems I'm behind in my poetry class. Granted, it was only two, a ritual poem and a haiku series, but I really have had no inspiration for them recently. But they're done. The haiku series is only 4 haikus which may or may not be enough since I wasn't there on Tuesday to find out how many we were supposed to write. If it's not enough, I can add to it. Also, it's about rape which is hard to write in haiku form. And the ritual poem is about a fractured relationship where the participants keep replaying the same events over and over again. In couplet form.
I swear, I used to be creative when I wrote poetry. All my creativity has been poured into fiction lately, and I haven't even written much of that either. It's not that I'm blocked or I don't want to write, as a matter of fact, the desire to write is so strong it almost hurts sometimes. I just haven't had the time to write the way I want to. I always say that I'm going to use winter break to blow out some WIPs and and finish a bunch of stuff. Two years ago, I planned to finish Mercy and Things Falling Apart. Mercy was finished about three months later, and TFA was finished that summer. I'm really good about sticking with my schedule. I'd like to get finished some Stargate stories this break and maybe, just maybe get a good chunk of The Immortality Blues written because I want to post that someday.
Also, I will someday listen to something other than Cry Me a River off of Justified, but today is not that day. Just like yesterday was not that day and there's a damn good chance that tomorrow will not be that day either.
I'm in love with Timberlake's voice on this as well as just the whole damn song. And he does such pretty choreography to this song. All slow and sensual and nice. Good stuff.
