A Year in Review...

It's been a year that's been full of a lot of change.

My health took a huge downward slide starting in March and really coming full force in August. From August through mid-October, I was pretty useless for a lot of stuff and when I did do things, there were serious consequences. I got on meds that help - to a point. I'm getting worse again and I need to get in contact with my docs so I don't end up a mess come February.

I got a new job which I really like. So far things are very slow and often boring, but that's okay. It's going to pick up and for once I'm at a company that pays well, has excellent benefits, and won't fuck me over. Hopefully. Plus Chris works there and he likes his job as well. Novel concept for both of us.

We bought a house. This is just a huge fucking thing. So amazing and scary. But I love our house. It's awesome.

We bought two cars - one because of an accident and one because the car pretty much gave up the ghost. Both cars are wonderful and run! Yay!

I lost a lot of weight partially because of the fact I spent all summer in physical therapy and partially because of the meds I'm on for my fibromyalgia.

My grandfather died. It was remarkably anticlamactic.

I spent lots of time with perfume and soap and lotions and tarts and learning what smells good and what doesn't.

I learned that a good beer is a nice thing.

Fannishly I've bounced around, checking out something new and shiny and then moving on. I'm dissatisfied with most of my fannish pursuits and have started to look into other hobbies since writing and I are not getting along. I've written five things this year: The True Story of What Was (SGA), Tonight the part of THE VILLAIN will be played by: Stanley Raymond Kowalski (dS), Little One (dS), Then Again (SGA/WW), and a not yet revealed due South Sekrit Santa fic. Paltry showings, but I haven't had the energy to write. I was doing okay earlier in the year, but once I started having health stuff happen and was forced to stop typing so much, I never got the energy back. And now, it's just kind of dormant.

I decided to take up weaving again and signed up for a course that starts in February.

And now I'm sitting in the living room of my new house, writing porn with dayse, contemplating taking a bath with one of my new bombs or melts from LUSH, and thinking about fayemeadows and waryne's party tomorrow night (well, tonight really).

All in all, a pretty good way to close out a year. :)
