I find it interesting that in The Devil You Know, Apophis used Jack to try and get information from Daniel. With the others, it was someone they loved - Sam and Jacob, Jack and Charlie, and Martouf and Jolinar. Daniel got Jack to persuade him. Personally, I see this as TPTB giving us a little hint about who Daniel really loves. It could have been Sha're, but instead it was Jack.
Also, is there some parallelism between the number of times Daniel has died to the number of times Apophis has died? They have to be close at this point. (ie. season 3).
See. These are the things I think about when I'm bored. I need to start school and be kept occupied. But, damn do I love this show.

My more cynical side, though, always points out that it might have just been a logistic thing and they couldn't get the actress who played Sha're back for the ep.

Not only does Daniel love Jack, but those things Hallucination!Jack was saying to him? They're what Daniel wanted to hear Jack say. Yes, I did like that scene.
