Is there anyone out there who is a quick knitter who would be willing to make a trade of some sort (or I'll pay you) to make me fingertipless gloves kind of like these but without any sort of writing, etc on it? I would send you the yarn and we could figure out some trade if you'd be willing to make them for me. I can't knit. I'm rubbish at it and can't find any I really like online. I could offer webspace, handspun yarn, something woven (though this would have to wait until the loom is fixed), um. possibly fic (but this is not a first choice for me), episodes of TV shows... Also, you can have free reign with the pattern. That's just an example of what I want. :D

Anyone? Bueller?

When would you be looking to have them? I'm not the fastest knitter, and I have six small projects that I have to get done before I take on anything else. But they are all small projects, so. I'm all about handspun, and I haven't been doing a lot of it in recent months. In fact, I have yet to actually use any of the small skeins I've managed to make, and I don't have many of those. Let me know what your timetable is?

Honestly I'd like them rather soon - within a month. Mostly because I'm dying in my office. We can't adjust the temperature at all and it's hovering around 62 everyday.

I can knit you similar ones, but not exact... the ones I've made for myself stop just short of the first knuckles, but are "mitten" style rather than having each finger articulated. If you'd like I can take a picture of my hands in them and show you what I mean... I started a project of ones like you pictured, but never got the hang of doing each teeny weeny finger.

Within the next month is easily doable... I'm about to finish one Hogwarts sock for [livejournal.com profile] schmoo999 and I'm a chicken, so I'm mailing it to her to try fit before starting Sock #2. With sock gauge yarn I believe my fingerless mittens took me a long weekend to make. (It's football season and new TV starts this week, so plenty of couch-sitting in my future.)

I've made lots of fingerless gloves (some even with flippy mitten-caps!) and would be happy to make them for you if you can't find someone else, but I wouldn't be able to get started until I get settled in at my new place (so at least a couple of weeks). but they go very quickly once they're started.

I'm pretty desperate for something that covers the majority of my fingers, but leaves the dexterity. I have a pair of the mitten style ones and they're just not doing enough for me. Seriously, 62 in my office. One of these days I'm going to see my breath!

Thank you though. I really appreciate you even offering. :)

just let me know! right after I move would actually be a good time to do it, because I'll have all my knitting stuff organized for once. ;) Anyway, I have a 45 minute or so commute to look forward to - I'll need something to do!

what yarn do you want to use for them? handspun?

I actually have about 6 skeins of cashmere that I was hoping to use for them. I plan on using it for a scarf as well so I figure they'll work well together. :)

ooh, cashmere (droool). that sounds delectable! I'd wear cashmere mitts all the time just because cashmere is so great. just be aware that cashmere isn't really a heavy-duty kind of yarn, so the mitts may not hold up all that well compared to wool.

Hmm...very true. and these mitts will be getting a lot of use. [ponders] I'll have to look through my yarn stash. though just the idea of cashmere gloves makes me so happy. and it's such a pretty fall orange!

You have plenty of offers, but I totally can do it, if you'd like. I just finished my latest pair of socks tonight!

Dude, don't worry - it's an easy knit. If you want me to do it, lemme know - I've made mitten-style before, and this looks really simple. All I'd need to know is if your hand was S/M/L and what sort of yarn you wanted (you said cashmere? I can make - like [livejournal.com profile] schmarian said, won't be thaaat durable, but can make - but tell me what gauge it is :) )

Still, I really appreciate it. My hands just won't work for knitting. They laugh at me when I pick up knitting needles. :)

No problem, and sorry I can't help. Since I haven't figured out how to do fingers, I doubt I could make you the kind of gloves you need in a timely fashion.

Unless... hmm. I know how to do articulated toe socks from the toes up... I wonder if I could do open fingers and then knit the rest of the glove fingers-to-wrist.

If you don't find anyone able to make them, poke at me again and I'll give this a try.

What are your thoughts about War and Crowley?

I'm thinking about buying my first BPAL in like a year. I'm curious what you thought of them or if you tried them.

Thanks in advance and good luck with the knitting search.

I've tried both of them and neither of them were that great. War was waaaay too gingery. Like, painful get away from it ginger. Crowley was just ... meh. It didn't impress me.

I just got my decants from the Halloween etc stuff and The Chilling Cellar and The Perilous Parlor were standouts. Also, Pumpkin IV and V were really good.

Recently I've been wearing older stuff. Heh. Aged Lion, O, Snake Oil. Oh! Leo, you would like Leo if you can find it. As for what's available, check out Kubla Khan as well. It's GC and I think that's one that would work on your skin.

Thanks you muchly! You saved me $50. :)

I think those were the two Halloween scents I was interested in. The Halloween scents are always my favorite, though the Trick or Treats this year seem ick. (from description only)

Seeing the email for an 2007 Beaver Moon grabbed me. I was all "YAY" till I read the description. :(

I've spent this year trying to wear all my old stuff. Not an easy feat when you have so much.

I wasn't that into the ToTs myself. Didn't even plead for one. Ah well. The Perilous Parlor is vanilla and pear. It's the best pear scent Beth has done imo. The Chilling Cellar is sexy and a little cold. Kind of like Bordello with extra spice and some rock thrown in. *g*
