feeling great, feeling good. how are you?

it is entirely disgusting outside. raining and windy and cold and flooding. definitely not a nice day out there. i took milo out there for his walk and he was totally not in the mood. he peed, pooped, and headed directly to the back steps. he was so intent on getting out of the rain, he collided with my legs as we both tried to get up the steps at the same time. it's actually not a bad day to be heading to work. i still don't want to go though. because it's work. and it's stressful. and i hate it. no. really. i'm not being facetious here. but it's a job and i can get through it.

i made dinner last night and made scones today. they turned out alright. not as great as the hazelnut scones i made last week, but tasty. the blueberries added more liquid and i didn't really account well for that so the dough was overly sticky. next time i'll know to add more flour to compensate.

here's a quick list of things you should read. er. well. if you're into that.

1: Popslash (shut up, it's a college AU! I'm not made of stone) = The Carpenter AU by hurricanemegan. [Part One] and [Part Two]. Cheesy, silly, and a total cliche fic, but who doesn't love some nice old cliche-fic every now and then. :) JC/Kevin, Justin/AJ.

2: HP: gillianinoz has posted the third part of the Mine series (Mine, Snape's Vocation). [The Owl and The Puppy-dog]. This is a Severitus challenge fic and it's gen-fic with kid!Harry. It's a wonderful series and I reccomend the whole thing if you're interested in a good gen-fic that is well-written, plotty, and answers the Severitus challenge very well.

3: dS: cesperanza has posted a sort of sequel to A Rare and Genuine Gratitude called Double Negative. It's a fic about Ray showing Fraser how to get some anger out. And then there's sex. [nods] It's perfectly logical and hot. And it's by Ces, so you know it's well-written. They're both on her flashfiction page [here].

4: Wilby Wonderful: Fic is just coming out all over for this fandom. And I for one am quite happy about it. Story the first: Let Me Go On by pearl_o. It's gen with a side of het. There's no way this is het fic, but there is male/female sex. But it's not het fic. It's much closer to gen because the sex isn't about sex. You can read it at her site [here]. Story the second: A Coffee Triptych by serialkarma. This is an epilogue (in a way) that is set right after the end of the movie. It's very well done and it feels like a continuation of the movie. You can read it at her journal [here].


that's all for the fic. i'd like to point out that when i rec fic, it's all with proper punctuation and capitalization. go me! now if i could get that going for the rest of the entry, i'd be golden. also, it's not really a cross me and die day, but i just watched mountie & soul hence the icon.
