It's about 17 degrees outside and I'm planning on going to help Chrissy move in. Part of me is wishing that I was driving to DC for the protest in Washington. I know I haven't really said anything here about politics et al, but I really, really feel that entering into a war at this point in time is a huge disaster. I have some very strong opinions about Bush's policies and where he is attempting to take this country. Don't even get me started on Israeli politices, which I also follow closely. I just don't feel like getting myself into a big to-do on LJ about my personal political leanings. I really respect people like [livejournal.com profile] slashingvelma who do talk about their political leanings and make no bones about their opinions. I just don't have the necessary vocabulary (and yes, it does come down to that for me) to do so.

So for now, I shall use my Viggo the anti-war protester icon constantly as my personal statement about the impending war.

crowded, informative, swarming with police and interesting people with interesting opinions and interesting costumes and banners.
there was easily half a million people there. i was surprised that so many people showed up (because of the weather).
i hope we made a difference and changed someone's opinion on bush's ideas of what a democracy is. if the protest made one person question their beliefs in the government then we all did our job.

I'm glad it went well. It's important to speak up and make your voice known.

Thanks for letting me know how it was. I really appreciate it.
