It's about 17 degrees outside and I'm planning on going to help Chrissy move in. Part of me is wishing that I was driving to DC for the protest in Washington. I know I haven't really said anything here about politics et al, but I really, really feel that entering into a war at this point in time is a huge disaster. I have some very strong opinions about Bush's policies and where he is attempting to take this country. Don't even get me started on Israeli politices, which I also follow closely. I just don't feel like getting myself into a big to-do on LJ about my personal political leanings. I really respect people like
slashingvelma who do talk about their political leanings and make no bones about their opinions. I just don't have the necessary vocabulary (and yes, it does come down to that for me) to do so.
So for now, I shall use my Viggo the anti-war protester icon constantly as my personal statement about the impending war.

Date: 2003-01-20 03:48 pm (UTC)there was easily half a million people there. i was surprised that so many people showed up (because of the weather).
i hope we made a difference and changed someone's opinion on bush's ideas of what a democracy is. if the protest made one person question their beliefs in the government then we all did our job.
