[deep breath]

So this is a fic announcement. And unlike every other fic announcement I do that's due South related, this one isn't a ficlet. It's the first part of a series called Picture in a Frame which is about Fraser and RayK post-CotW. This part is called A Passing Feeling. I have lots of people to thank for this story. [livejournal.com profile] dayse held my hand every step of the way and waved pom-poms in my face until I wrote more of it. [livejournal.com profile] kittiec looked at the story and said 'Hmm. Fraser doesn't sound like Fraser. Fix that.' She said it a lot nicer than that though. ;) [livejournal.com profile] spring_1970 took a long look and said 'Hmm. They're touching an awful lot in public. Look at that closer.' Again, she said it much nicer. And finally, [livejournal.com profile] tigs who shrugged and read the story even though she's never seen the show and needed visual references for the characters. I love her muchly for that.

Title: A Passing Feeling (111k)
Pairing: Fraser/RayK
Rating: Pants (thank you [livejournal.com profile] girl_clone!)
Summary: “Rule number one,” Ray said, ignoring her. “Do not talk to strangers even if Dad does.”
Warnings: Offscreen minor character death. Kids. Friendly giraffes.

wow. This is so very good. The interaction between Ray and Fraser is perfect. The scene that sticks in my head (I read it last night before bed) is when Ray cries into Fraser's stomach, while Fraser massages his neck. Just perfect. So is the grief and how they all react to it. The kids are great. Well rounded characters with little personalities all their own. Wonderful job :)

Thank you so much! I love the idea of their relationship being built on little tender moments and not big romantic gestures. I love that moment you mentioned. *sighs* I'm glad you liked it, Karen. :)

You're welcome ;)

And I really liked that story. It was sad and happy and makes me love Fraser a whole lot more than I do already.

I really enjoyed that. I loved the interaction between Ray and Fraser and the kids. Typical put-upon parents who love their kids to death anyway. And I liked that your Stella wasn't the one dimensional bitch that she's often made out to be in the fandom. A really enjoyable story, and I do hope you are continuing.
