let me entertain you...
Jun. 29th, 2006 12:55 pmi'm trying to get back in the habit of posting to lj. i'm not very interesting, but i figure i read everyone on my friendslist to keep me occupied, i should help to occupy them in return. today was day 2 of physical therapy. it went rather well, though there are a few exercises that make me want to cry because of the discomfort. mind you it's not pain, just discomfort from working muscles, joints, and tendons that have been babied since i've gotten hurt/sick whatever this is. but so far so good. and i feel absolutely fantastic because i was exercising. i always forget how good i feel afterwards since i never really do much more than walk the dog. i'm going to have to change that soon because i kind of like this. :D
also, this is bad, but does anyone have any suggestions for losing a quick 5lbs before the 8th? preferably without using diet pills because they don't really get along with my 4 cup a day coffee habit. see, i've got this gorgeous dress for laura's wedding that fits for the most part, but it's just a teensy bit tight up top. so yeah, like 5lbs. if that. also, yay! for cheap, cute target dresses. *g*

Date: 2006-06-29 05:28 pm (UTC)Fruit or nuts for snacks or no snacks at all; when possible replace lunch or dinner with salads with just barely enough dressing to cover the leaves. My salads are like a full course meal, though... I add celery, carrots, cucumber, tomato, and watercress leaves if I happen to have any.
If you don't generally eat breakfast, make a couple hard-boiled eggs and eat one each morning. Or a cup of yogurt or a small bowl of cereal depending on how you feel about carbs and dairy. The point is to eat something non-sugary to wake up your metabolism.
It's definitely doable! Water is the key thing though. I don't think you have to give up coffee, but you do have to drink even more water to compensate for the dehydration of caffeine. Flavored waters or squeezing a lemon or lime into the water are ok too if you don't like drinking plain water.

Date: 2006-06-29 06:32 pm (UTC)if you want to do just one thing I'd cut out bread and white carbs. like sugar, bleached flour-containing things.
brown rice and whole grains are ok in moderation (like anything) and fruit, but cut out the refined sugar and white breads and stuff and you should lose a few pounds quickly.
