mix cds mean stuff

When Chris was here last week, he gave me a mix CD with a picture of an orchid on the cover and a poem written on the CD. It's a fantastic CD that I can't really understand certain aspects of (such as why NIN's Hurt and REM's Everybody Hurts is on it), but I love it anyway. It's just great. It's been on for most of the week except for yesterday's 'I have to listen to Home for Christmas RIGHT. NOW. or else someone is going to be hurt' incident. I'm listening to it right now and anticipating the fact Radiohead is on next, followed by the Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Portishead, Tricky, and lots and lots of others. It's great. Oh, and right now is Stay (Faraway So Close) by U2. This boy kicks all kinds of ass.

Edit: Oh yes. I did have something else to say. I just read Amber's new story, and while I loved it, I had a little timeline freakout with it. I didn't realize that I was so anal about having a correct timeline in a story. Meh. I hate the fact it distracted me from the story because as always, it's a beautiful story and it's great TrickC which is basically the only thing I even read in this fandom anymore. Bah. [kicks brain] Just appreciate the pretty for what it is.

I only just realized now that I haven't adequately prepared myself to spend an extended period of time with my grandfather today. I haven't had enough coffee, I'm a little crabby, and I have a headache. This does not bode well for my time with him. I love him, okay, and this is going to sound really harsh, but I get so frustrated spending time with him now. Alzheimer's sucks, people. It takes away the people you love even when they're right in front of you.

I'm going to go put on makeup and smile pretty for hours on end and explain over and over again about school, Chris, and who I am.
