i'm home sick today. combo of fibro and one of the worst acid reflux days i've ever had. my entire body feels like it's alternately cramping and then relaxing to the point of nothingness. and then the stomach is giving me reflux all the way to my mouth (or at least it feels that way). i've very tentatively eaten a tea biscuit so i have something dry and bready in my stomach and taken zantac and chewed more gaviscon then i ever want to. *grumbles*

i want a fic wallow. i think i'm going to head over to teaspoon and find something endless and wallow-y where jack and ianto are soinlove but face PROBLEMS because of their love. i heart stuff like that when i don't feel well.

so how is everyone? honestly, i'd love to hear how you're doing. or rant if you want. get something off your chest that is bothering you. i want to feel more connected than i have recently. oh, but don't spoil me for anything dr. who related. i'm waaaay behind in watching them.

Ice cream ended up helping the reflux. As for the fibro, eh. Well it's better than it was. That's something. :)

Small victories. And besides, anytime you can help an ailment with ice cream, you win. :)

So true. So true.

Ice cream! The solution to every problem.

I haven't been reading Doctor Who lately; call me late to the party, but I read a Highlander/BTVS crossover and have since been reading all the HL I missed from never having watched the truly terrible acting in that show. So no recs here, but a big *hug* of sympathy from me. I forgot to take my evening heart pill with dessert so took it before bed, on an empty stomach, and had to get up every couple hours to chew tums. So I can definitely sympathize with that problem.

I have a feeling I'll end up mainlining this season when it's over. The only hard part is keeping away from spoilers since they show up in passing comments in TW fics. *grumbles*

I'm thinking part of the really rough acid reflux was that I took a Darvocet before falling back into bed. I was acid-y before that, but nothing like when I woke up the second time.

I've only ever taken Darvocet for tooth pain, so eating is first on my list of things to do once the med kicks in. =) Never had it on an empty stomach before.

Hope you're feeling better now!

I am allergic and unable to concentrate on work. And also wanting to, like, google pre-tornado clouds, because the ones I saw off to the east when I was waiting in traffic a few minutes ago weren't quite what I think they're supposed to look like, but were really odd and also beautiful and I want to figure out what they were.

I'm crossing my fingers they weren't tornado clouds. And I'm sorry work is still giving you problems. And I really wish I lived closer to where you're going to be in a few weeks because I would love to hang out with you!

They definitely weren't tornado clouds, from what I could tell from googling--just a weird layering of different cloud types that made this undulation, kind of. Really pretty, but not tornadic :-)

Oh, that sounds horrible. I hope you feel better soon. =(

I haven't gotten a decent night's sleep in five nights. I'm going to start throwing things if that doesn't change soon.

Is it just Zilla not sleeping when you want to sleep? Or the aches and pains of pregnancy in general? What have you tried so far?

I'm almost an expert on sleeping or lack thereof. I might have some suggestions you haven't tried.

I think it's a combination of things. Part of it is that I think I'm tired, get ready for bed, get in bedl... and find that I am wide awake. The other part is either aches in my back and legs, or zilla kicking me from 1-3am or 5-6am. Then there's the occasional episode with Nathan such as sleepwalking or spilling a full glass of water in the night.

So far I've tried doing walks and being more active during the day to make myself more tired, and I've tried a few pillows for my knees and hips. They have helped, but minimally.

Have you tried eating a very small amount of protein right before bed? For some reason, I've found that if I eat something with protein (peanut butter, cheese, etc) I can fall asleep and I'll stay asleep.

Also, something warm to drink (though this is not the weather for that) can help. Cold drinks tend to shock the body and will make you more alert. But something warm can calm the body.

That's interesting! I will try that protein trick; I tend to eat spoonfuls of nut butter at random anyway so maybe I'll start with something like that.

I started doing it when I noticed that I was waking up during the night starving. If I did the protein trick I didn't have that problem.

*waves*

I'm currently sitting in the Denver airport, very much ready to be home. Not that it's been a bad day of travel (my plane actually left on time!) but it was a little bumpy coming in here, and will probably continue to be bumpy on the way out. And I'm totally rambling here, because I am SO SO BORED and ready to be home.

Anyway, I hope you're feeling better, and that you found long, wallowy Jack/Ianto to read. That sounds like a good thing to do.

blergh I'm eating saltines in hope that it will soak up the acid.

I could totally go for a glass of red wine but that would just make my stomach go crazy. (mmmmmmmmm red wine......)

I have desperately wanted a beer the last few days but there's no way I can stomach it yet. The reflux isn't like it was, but still.

Afraid I don't have a rec for you, but I love that kind of fic too. x

I miss you.

Chrissy is cute when she is squeeing about band boys.

I flared all week, but decided to keep moving. It's part of my new thing. Maybe if I ignore the pain, it will go away. LOL! Seriously, I think I'm becoming used to being in pain. It is the one constant I have.

This is the first time in months that I've really flared. I can't figure out if it was just too much walking on Saturday, too much walking in heels on Sunday, or the rapid weather change from Sunday into Monday. It's much better today and I'll be going to work after a doctor's appointment, but it's still obviously there on the left side of my body. Grr.

Chrissy is *adorable* when squeeing about band boys. I still tease her, but it really is so cute.

I'm still here. Quiet, but here.
